5. A Step-by-step Process

Shortly following the publication of the Work Foundation’s report on the economic value of the creative industries a technical report was published.  The Gower’s Review was a new move by the UK government to act again as an enabler of the creative economy. With a growing acceptance of the general vision the government began to concentrate on the important component parts of moving the creative economy forward. The Gowers Report details policy concerns and initiatives in relation to the very specific and important field of managing digital intellectual property. (Appendix 26) Another step is the  preparation of a new policy paper.  The publication of this paper on the creative industries is expected in early 2008.
