Conclusions

conclusionsDo international, regional, and national cultural and creative industry policies play significant roles in the success of local cultural institutions?

Throughout this study the focus has been on exploring cultural policy initiatives at different international, regional and national levels to determine how they influence each other. In particular it has sought to understand and illustrate how policy morphs and changes as they move through the different international agencies through regional bodies, into the national sphere and then finally down to the local creative enterprise. To meet this criterion the study had the following three objectives:

  1. Identify existing cultural and creative industry policy at the international, European, national and local level.
  2. Determine the effects of creative industry policy on local enterprises.
  3. Suggest ways in which a local enterprise may benefit from implementing national, European and international creative industry policy.

Here we will briefly discuss the conclusions and recommendations in relation to the stated objectives of the study.
